Shawn is an independent financial planner and national bestselling author with 20 years of knowledge and experience in the financial industry. He is driven by the mission and acknowledgment that everyone works hard and deserves a comfortable retirement lifestyle. His passion lies in crafting comprehensive retirement plans, focusing on the often-overlooked drawdown phase of distribution. This unique approach provides clients with a clear and understandable framework for the future. He operates in a fiduciary role, prioritizing a client’s financial well-being above all else and ensuring their interests are always at the forefront of every decision made through personalized, transparent and trustworthy financial guidance.

Shawn’s journey into finance began at Georgia Southern University, where he earned his degree in finance and investments. His career began in the financial technology space and, later, financial advisory firms. But his true calling emerged through helping people plan for retirement for over 20 years, leading him to establish Retire Wise, LLC in 2020. Shawn’s work and financial insights have been recognized by major publications, including Yahoo Finance, USA Today and Kiplinger. He’s been interviewed on NBC, FOX, ABC and CBS affiliates. As a fiduciary, Shawn is committed to acting in the best interest of his clients, ensuring their needs and goals always come first.

Shawn has been happily married to his wife for over 20 years, Debbie. Together, they enjoy family life in Monroe, Georgia, with two rescue animals, a dog, Gracie, and a cat, Ember. Shawn calls family time his “happy time” and enjoys being with their three grown children and three grandbabies. Outside work, you’ll find Shawn serving at his church, playing golf or cheering on his favorite football teams.
